In your case, for someone who's not looking at going hardcore like us hardcore people and making mad powahs, I would recommend the stock clutch. The ACT pedal is firm, it's grabby. The first 2,000 miles or so are kinda harsh, and I still find myself reving to 2K or so to get a nice smooth 1st gear start. But I LOVE the clutch otherwise. I kind of like the firm pedal because it makes me feel more in touch with the car that other "soft" cars I've driven. But you can save money and harshness by going with OEM, so I think that's the best choice for you. Give me a call and I'll give you a good deal. But plan on buying a shift fork boot, slave cylinder, and all that good stuff :o) -Kaleb : : I've got Y pipe and intake and my car; maybe UDP in the future but not a whole lot else planned powerwise. : : I was thinking I would go with ACT clutch but I was reading a bunch of posts on .org regarding ACT clutch and got the impression that it's pretty rough for everyday driving. I know there is some tradeoff for a performance clutch but I dont want something that is a pain to drive around all the time especially when I'm in Atlanta traffic. : : Anyone with ACT, what do you guys think about your clutches? Worth it or not? Matt, I say you posted some initial impressions but haven't heard anything lately. John, still happy with your switch back to OEM? : : Also, anyone have either clutch for sale? :)
Craig,
: : My clutch sucks.
: : It's the same one that has been on the car since I got it (2 years, 30k miles) and I dont know how much older than that it is. It was never that good when I got the car and I basically learned to drive a stick on this car so that didn't help either. It works allright for normal driving but slips pretty bad if I try to push it.
